It is used for hydrogen manufacturing and ammonia synthesis unit to promote the reaction of converting CO with steam into H2 and CO2 at a higher temperature 300-500℃.
CO + H2O = CO2 + H2, △H298 = –41.03 KJ/mol
Sulfur content is low in catalyst body. In operation, It releases sulfur fast. Especially used in processes which are not allowed to be polluted by sulfur after medium temperature shift, for example, decarbonation system which closely connected with low temperature shift and requires the gas not to be polluted by sulfur.

The catalyst which is developed to suit for ammonia plants of high sulfur content in raw gas and is a lower temperature shift sulfur resistance catalyst. It can be used in all kinds of ammonia plants in middle or small scales. Especially used in ammonia plants in which conditions of gas desulfurization is bad and gas contains high H2S and organic sulfide. It can be also operated under the condition of lower temperature and lower steam/gas ratio.
