Anhui Bamboo and Wicker Products has a long history of evolution. There were exquisite bamboo and wicker products of the Tang and the Song Dynasties. Up to the Ming Dynasty, the workmanship had become perfect.

Anhui Province is situated in the lower reaches of the Yangtse River and the Huai River, ranges of hills and mountains, such as the Huang Shan, the Jiu Hua Shan and the Da Bie Shan stand on this area of where is rich in natural resources, and particularly bamboo and wicker of high quality.
